plane crash in libya

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- The lead Dutch investigator into the plane crash in Libya says relatives have now provided DNA samples to aid in identification of some of the bodies.

He says the task is made more difficult since the crash left some of the victims' bodies in pieces. All but one of the 104 people on board the flight from South Africa to the Libyan capital died. The 9-year-old sole survivor returned to the Netherlands yesterday.

Dutch and American crash investigators are helping search for clues in the debris field.

Libyan authorities, meanwhile, have determined that one of those found dead at the site was not a passenger but a Libyan rescue worker who responded to the scene and died of a heart attack.
